*SOC means Strength Of Competition.  It’s a term used by MicroNiche Finder, a keyword research tool I use.  The lower the number, the better.  A SOC of less than 300 is a keyword phrase you can probably rank well with.  A SOC of less than 50 means it’s likely to be very easy to appear on page 1 of search engines, if you target that keyword phrase.  Of course, your results may vary.
